Outdoor grilling may be seen as an easier way to cook because it minimizes kitchen clean up. Yet, the research has shown a link between inhaling smoke from the grill and eating grilled, well-done meat with the risk for certain kinds of cancer.
There are many problems and inconveniences that come with cooking food over an open flame. For one, it takes longer and does not cook evenly. Since the food is cooked at a higher temperature over an open flame, there are more carcinogens (cancer causing agents) left in the food. Additionally, the smoke produced from cooking over an open flame can produce carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas.
